House HHertfordshire, United Kingdom

The heart of the project is an intimate walled garden
contained within the house and encapsulated by the surrounding forest. This “garden
within a garden” showcases a majestic red maple centerpiece providing symbolic
reflections of strength and security both within the house and family.

Most of the walls are in glass in order to bring
natural light to the whole dwelling and every space is open to the landscape.
Glass dematerializes the relationship between external and internal spaces.
Life inside the house is very much a balance with nature.

Building is oriented to take advantage of available
sunlight and all the rooms are organized in a manner that allows for a
harmonious synchronicity with the sun’s circadian rhythm.

This house is meant to be a space where anxiety and
stress drop away, and problems that had seemed insoluble assume minor
proportions after the ‘therapy’ of living in a beautiful house.

Aurora Kindergarten

Lugano, Switzerland

Aurora kindergarten fits the context aligning with a tree-lined street in order to define a large green area that beautifully divides between the district and the school.

The building is conceived in a pragmatic way; the structure is simple and clear with individual sections, developed longitudinally and rhythmically, overlooking four courtyards cut into the volume of the building.
The materials utilized are glass, for its
lightness and transparency, which allows the structure to enjoy the natural light of the sun and the wood that is naturally harmonious and additionally ensures low environmental impact.

The building, in perfect harmony with the surrounding park, is the ideal location to create a child’s first contact with nature, thus making the structure an active part in the learning and development of the child’s first sensory experiences.
